Studio10 is pleased to present before disembarking, the third solo exhibition of Tim Spelios’work at the gallery. The nine large scale UV prints on aluminum in the exhibition are based on the artist’s photo collage.
slam, bang! every time your screen door slams
it leaves its imprint on your nervous system
slam! bang! all summer long
day in day out
It may not mean anything
the clapping of cupped hands
cicadas sang pulsating songs
drops hissed as they splashed
and oranges turned reddish brown
eventually you become a newspaper and after one big day of
breakfast tables, city streets, subway trains and office desks,
spend the rest of your life in obscurity or else go up in smoke
empty truck beds bounce
one honk and a fire truck
I hear cars and airplanes
together like cows and abandoned vehicles
rewarded with over-polite applause
the first American kindergarten was established in 1856
bees so love the bloom
hot and cold water ran through the pipes
audible for a considerable distance
